Pastor's Welcome
When I was asked to write a welcome message for our website I thought, "What in the world am I going to write about?" These are supposed to be the words that attract your attention and encourage you to dig deeper as you visit our site and perhaps our church. So, as I thought about what you needed to read, it came to me; "if I'm serious about being genuine and I am, that's what I should talk about."People are busy with careers, carpools, appointments, and the after-school shuffle. Busy with paying bills, keeping the house clean, and just trying to keep up with life in general. I know because my family and I live that life too. And yet I believe that Zion attempts to offer something different than just the rush, rush, rush of this life.
At Zion, you will find more than just another thing to check off your to-do list. You will find encouragement, friendship, and people who are doing their best to follow Jesus and His Message.
My prayer is that at Zion you will discover Real life, Real community, and a Real mission.
Real Life flows from a growing relationship with Jesus. It's not about false pretenses or performance; it's about where your heart is and God knows that. Real Community is about being connected in meaningful and purposeful ways to others. Real Mission flows from that community, as we act on our faith by being the hands and mouth of Jesus to others. Join us at Zion as we seek to nurture Life, Community, and Mission.
