Care-seroles Program
This food delivery program is available upon request for both church and day school families who need a little assistance with meals while recuperating from surgery, illness or other needs. Call the Zion Ministries office at 415-221-7500, if you find yourself needing the services of this program.
San Francisco Food Bank
Thank you for continuing to donate non-perishable food items (no glass containers, please) in the green food barrels located in the school lobby. Zion has donated 360 pounds of food during the month of August. The SF Food Bank distributes 26 million pounds of food annually through 500 community service agencies to aid the 150,000 residents who live with the threat of hunger.
Large Print Ministries
A group meeting weekly to assemble and produce large print Christian literature for those with dimming sight or near blindness. Materials produced include books of the Bible, hymn, books, devotional books and other pertinent Biblical writings. The materials are distributed throughout America and the world by the Lutheran Braille Workers.
The Health & Human Care Ministries provide services to the Zion community and to the community-at-large.
The purpose of the health ministry team is to help Zion care for one another and the surrounding community…to help attain, maintain, and/or regain the best possible health of the whole person--body, mind, and spirit--that can be experienced. Zion's health ministers are both health professionals-nurses, physical therapists, technicians, dentists and lay members who are committed to wellness for all of God's people.
Programs include food drives, blood pressure screening, blood drives, the Hunger Walk, and Care-serole food delivery.
